Helping Women Delight in Godโs Word |
๐ Hey Reader,
Have you ever avoided God because you felt SO guilty about how long it had been since you last read your Bible? ๐
I definitely have. But recently, it hasn't been as bad, because I learned something important:
Godliness isn't measured by how often you read your Bible. But it IS measured by how much you obey it.
James 1:23-25 says:
If you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.
โ
But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
Friends, my challenge for all of us (including me!), is that this weekend we take ONE teaching of Scripture...and focus on applying it to our lives all next week. ๐โจ
Because if you've skipped some days in your reading plan, but you...
๐ stopped that impatient comment before you opened your mouth
โค๏ธ gave to charity (even though money's tight)
๐ฎโ๐จ didn't get mad (when you could have)
...then God is pleased with your obedience. ๐ซถ
God isn't impressed by Bible-reading streaks. He's pleased by faithful obedience.
If you're with me, reply to this email and let me know what your focus will be! I'd love to pray for you and cheer you on.
In Him,
