Helping Women Delight in God’s Word |
👋 Merry Christmas, Reader!
As I was praying over what to write for this Christmas newsletter, one word came to mind: joy. 🤍
There have been plenty of years when I’ve spent Christmas Day feeling strangely empty after a busy day, struggling with family dynamics, or just plain depressed.
I don’t know where today finds you, but here’s what I want you to know:
✨ Your circumstances can’t touch your joy, because joy isn’t an emotion. Joy is a work of the Holy Spirit—a gift from the living God who dwells within us (Gal. 5:22). 🎁
When we put our hope in material things, they often leave us unfulfilled. But Paul’s letter to the Ephesians gives us powerful reasons why we can have joy today, in good times and in hard ones:
- God (with delight!) has adopted us as His children 👨👧👦 (Eph. 1:5)
- Jesus has “lavished" His grace on us 🍾 (Eph. 1:7)
- God has given us every spiritual blessing (it says every!) 🤗 (Eph. 1:3)
Whether today finds you celebrating with your favorite people or feeling quiet and alone, I hope you’ll take a minute to soak in the joy we have in our Savior. I encourage you to read through Ephesians 1 slowly and prayerfully, really resting in the goodness of Jesus. 🩷📖
And if you need a little extra encouragement, I recommend listening to this week’s podcast 🎧—Mentor Mama’s conversation with Army chaplain Bob Page will remind you of the truth that God is still for you.
Praying you have a truly joyous week! 🎄✨
Merry Christmas,
